Manchester and Cheshire vistor’s came out to celebrate the first Rising Girl fundraiser.

The striking Imperial war in hosted the inaugural fundraising for Rising Girl, earlier this week.

In attendance was Naz MP, and multi-millionaire property tycoon Iftikhar Majeed.

Video messages of where shared by Ziauddin Yousafzai (Malala’s father), Baroness Warsi, owner of the Peshawar Zalmi team Javed Afridi and the Real House wives of Cheshire Seema Malhotra.

The afternoon highlighted the need to educate girls globally and kicked off its fundraising activity with a desperate project in Baluchistan, where schools for 600 girls had been shut down due to lack of funding; which can leave the young girls prone to abuse and child labour.

The Rising Girl campaign was founded by Emb Hashmi; after she was inspired by one young girls struggle and determination to get an education, which Emb documented through a short film.

Why Rising Girl? – Educating Girls can break cycles of poverty in just one generartion, making gurls education one of the smartest opportunities in the world today.
