If you’re looking to get out and sample some of the most mouthwatering halal foods this August, be sure to get ready for the Halal Food Festival. Taking place at the BEC Arena (Manchester) on the 19th and 20th of August 2023, this event is planned to be bigger and better than the previous event which took place in Birmingham last year!
In 2022, the event hosted a whopping 15,000 foodies and this year they’re back to host over 20,000 people in Trafford!
This year, there will be a live cooking theatre hosted by ‘Superchic’, as well as celebrity chefs showing off their culinary skills. The event will also be featuring some of your favourite social media influencers as well as a fair ride hosted by Islamic Relief. If you’re coming with kids, don’t worry, as the festival will feature kid’s entertainment which will also be hosted by Islamic Relief.
With over 30 outdoor mouth-watering street food vendors, we recommend coming with an open mind and an empty belly. Get ready to satisfy your cravings with some of the most scrumptious foods in Manchester that have been cooked by outstanding chefs. Whilst there will be 30 outdoor vendors, it is estimated that the festival will feature over 150 halal food vendors on both days serving delicious halal food from around the world! In other words, there’ll be something for everyone!
The festival will focus on a variety of diverse cuisines such as Baity Palestinean, Little Dessert Shop, Marhaba Steak and Grill, Mr Tee King of Desserts, Pitmaster, Savouries by Sara, The Mocktail Lab and Zakzaki. What’s more, halal lifestyle brands will be featured and showcased in the main arena which includes Mia Dia from The Islam Channel, and KanD Man from the BBC Asian Network. With both cooking in front of live audiences, the festival will be a great opportunity to learn from the best!
If home decor, fashion and arts interest you, you’ll be happy to know that an ‘Artisan Market’ will be hosted by the ‘Muslim Instashop Expo’. Perfect for small start-ups and Instagram businesses, the market will be a golden opportunity for people to get involved if interested in fashion, beauty and home decor.
The Halal Food Festival is about so much more than just food. Director of the Halal Food Festival 2023 Bilal Khan said, “Being able to host The Halal Food Festival is like a dream come true, bringing friends and families together to socialise, eat, and celebrate the halal lifestyle.”
He also added, “We encourage all walks of life to join us to learn a little more about our integration into the UK. It is also a great opportunity for us to champion halal businesses, hoping to take them from being small start-ups to leading enterprises in their respected fields.”
